CityCom Interact is your way of staying connected to what's happening at City Community Church in Indianapolis, and around the world.

Last week wrapped up the Awakenings series at City Community Church, and this weekend we have a special surprise that we know you're going to enjoy. Grab a friend and join us this Sunday, 11AM at the Central Library in downtown Indianapolis. At CityCom, we accept you for who you are, but challenge you to become all that God created you to be. Hope to see you Sunday!
On Saturday, May 8, CityCom will be mobilizing the Church that "we are" to make a tangible difference in the life of a local widow. In partnership with the Boner Center, we will spend the day cleaning out and overhauling this woman's home. Put on your work clothes and come join us as we connect with one another by interacting with Indy...and being The Church. Contact Nathan LaGrange at nathan@citycommunitychurch.com to signup.
Spring CityGroups are wrapping up (if they haven't already). Look for a new round of groups to start in June (with a few potentially exciting twists!). A huge thanks to all our leaders for stepping out and sharing their lives this spring. If you have an idea for a future group, send it to info@citycommunitychurch.com
Our first ever CityCom water baptism will be at Eagle Creek Beach on Sunday night, June 27! If you're ready to be baptized in water (we'll be teaching more on this in the coming months), mark this date on your calendar. More info soon.
If you partner financially with City Community Church, you are helping to build a new Mercy Center in La Ceiba, Honduras that will reach hundreds of children with physical aid, educational opportunities, vital relationships, and the hope that only comes through Jesus Christ.
Amidst these great AWAKENINGS, there are still so many things that try to lure us back to sleep. Calling us back to where it's safe, comfortable, cozy. But we can't doze off. The possibilities are endless if we can just find the courage to stay awake. Join us this Sunday, 11AM at the Central Library in downtown Indianapolis, as we wrap up the AWAKENINGS series. Hope we see you there (with your eyes wide open).
Join us right after service THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 11 in the Library Cafe for a short "remix" version of CityCom Conversations. Meet a few key CityCom leaders as well as others that are beginning to call CityCom home in an informal, conversaitonal environment. This will also be a great time for you to learn how to get more involved at City Community Church.

That's Not Chocolate!!

Butler Bulldogs, Chocolate Bunnies and City Community Church! Easter weekend is here in Indianapolis this Sunday, April 4, and we want to put out a challenge to each and every one of you that call CityCom home: Invite someone to church!
The Easter season is a natural time to reach out to a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or family member. Here's the deal: You do the inviting and we promise to create a simple and powerful environment that presents the reality of Jesus Christ in a real and practical way. Let's partner together this Easter to tell others in Indy what God has done for them. Will you take the challenge?

Can you commit 7 minutes a day to having a real encounter with the Creator of the Universe? Don't just know about God, know Him. Click here for a simple tool that just might help.
Below is the outline of the 7 Minutes a Day tool that was presented during our weekend gathering at CityCom on Sunday, March 21, 2010. These are the actual slides that were shown on the screen, including a link to the audio podcast of the entire message featuring Erik's interview with Dr. Mike Elmore.
This tool was developed by Dr. Elmore through his passion to personally mentor people in their spiritual development. It's a simple, practical way of helping you in your daily pursuit of a personal connection to God.
Carl has the week off to catch up on some zzzzzz's (it was in his contract rider). But never fear, he'll be back next week with a new inspirational and energetic performance in the Awakenings video series. Stay tuned for more exciting CarlTV.
AWAKENINGS come at the most unexpected and inopportune times. One moment we're sleeping peaefully, warm and relaxed, completely oblivious to the real world. The next minute we're doused with cold water, shocked from our slumber, frantically trying to reacclimate to a new reality.
AWAKENINGS are rarely sought after, they just come. And this week at CityCom we're excited to explore another rude wake up call.
Jesus had an uncanny way of turning the tables, changing the rules, flipping assumed realities upside-down. He's still doing that today. We call those AWAKENINGS, and this brand new series from City Community Church will explore some of the Awakenings we're having in our own lives. And hopefully birth some in you as well.
Grab some (caffeinated) coffee and come join us, 11AM at the Central Library in downtown Indianapolis.

Spa Day at the Julian Center was unbelievable! Wish we could safely share pictures and videos, but trust us, serving these women was transformational for everyone involved. We want to say a huge thank you to all of you who donated time, money, or jewelry and spa products to make this day happen. You allowed CityCom to be the hands and feet of Jesus to this women and children.
This year CityCom is giving away the first 12% of all donations to our Interact Partners.
Every day we have a challenging choice. Will we awaken, or will we just continue sleeping? Which will you choose?
This week we continue the AWAKENINGS series by looking at personal preferences. Our own innate desires and presuppositions can lull us to sleep, make us completely oblivious to amazing possibilities swirling all around us. Even God-possibilities.

Hey, it's time to wake up. Are you ready?
Don't forget, THIS SATURDAY NIGHT before you go to bed, set your clocks FORWARD one hour. DST has arrived (early this year). We'd hate for you to sleep through the Awakenings series on Sunday morning. That would just be ironic!

Join CityCom and Common Ground for the second ever Response Project: a night of generosity, unity, and worship. THIS SATURDAY, March 13, CityCom's worship team will be leading a powerful evening of music alongside Adam Nevins and the team from Common Ground. This night will also promote a brand new, local justice organization called There Is Enough.
This night is about churches coming together across this city, so help us make this night a huge success! Click here to visit the Facebook site and send invites to your friends. Grab some dinner on Mass Ave and join us at the Athenaeum Theatre at 7PM for this very special event. See you there CityCom!
The Julian Center Spa Day is this Sunday! The event is staffed at full capacity, but if you're still interested in donating both jewelry and spa items (nail polish, makeup, hair products, etc.), please email mandy@citycommunitychurch.com or tricia@citycommunitychurch.com for more details.
The Julian Center, one of our CityCom Interact Partners, is a nonprofit agency providing counseling, safe shelter, and education for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other life crises, right here in the city of Indianapolis. Thanks for helping us make this a great day for these women. Thanks for being The Church!
Many of you were able to experience Mike Perez's powerful spoken word a few weeks ago at our CityCom weekend gathering. Mike has re-recorded the piece and even added some visual support. This piece continues to spread (we've received correspondence from as far away as California of other churches wanting to utilize Mike's work). We want to give voice to these types of powerful awakenings and celebrate the artistic beauty that is emerging from City Community Church. Thanks for sharing your gift with us Mike!
Some of us are sleeping and we don't even know it. Self-awareness can be elusive, and sometimes the awakening we need to have is to the fact that we're actually still sleeping. Well, the alarm clock is going off. Will you hit the snooze?
Awakenings hits week #2 as we explore an awakening that many of us may not even realize we need to have.

CityCom is proud to participate in The Response Project, Saturday March 13 at the Athenaum Theater in downtown Indianapolis. The Response Project is an effort to promote unity and generosity within the body of Christ in central Indiana by planning and promoting free, regional worship concerts which intentionally raise funds for our ministry partners whose missions are aligned with the local church body.
Each of The Response Project events features 2 worship bands from local churches (this event features the CityCom worship team!) and 1 supported local ministry. Each supported ministry presents their story between the two sets of worship. During the event, attendees have the opportunity to support the ministry through a one-time donation, a monthly commitment, or through volunteerism.
Make plans now to join us for this great evening, Saturday March 13 at 6PM.
Hey ladies! Looking for a fun way to be the church? On Sunday, March 14 from 2-4PM, you're invited to join us for Spa Day at the Julian Center in downtown Indianapolis.
The Julian Center, one of our CityCom Interact Partners, is a nonprofit agency providing counseling, safe shelter, and education for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other life crises, right here in the city of Indianapolis.
Spa Day is a great way for you to interact and show the practical love of Christ to some local women in crisis. We'll be doing hair, manicures, and makeup, as well as a jewelry exchange. You're welcome to participate personally as well as donate both jewelry and spa items (nail polish, makeup, hair products, etc.) to help make this day a great success. Donations can be brought to the Central Library during CityCom's weekend services.
Due to the nature of the Julian Center's work, we are asking that we limit participation to City Community Church attenders (please don't announce this via social media, etc.), and that you RSVP to mandy@citycommunitychurch.com if you're planning to participate.
CityCom turned one on March 1! And while we're overwhelmed that this young church has come to life so quickly, we don't want to celebrate the fact that we simply exist. We only want to celebrate that God's Kingdom is coming alive inside of each of you. Our deepest thanks to everyone that has invested so much of themselves these first 12 months, but the journey has just begun. We can't wait to see what's coming next!
Waking up can be difficult, especially on a cold, winter morning. It would be so much easier to climb back under the warm blankets and let your mind return to it's state of rest. Where it's safe. Where it's comfortable.
But we can't stay asleep forever. We have to wake up.

Thanks to your unbelievable generosity, CityCom sent a $25,000 check to Mission of Mercy this week! (a substantial donation for a church as young as ours). These funds will build a much-needed addition to one of the Mercy Centers in La Ceiba, Honduras. This is the exact project our CityCom team will personally work on and in during our trip to Honduras this June, and the center that supports many of the children sponsored by our church. Thanks to your generosity, CityCom is able to make a tangible and long-term difference in this impoverished area of the world.
